Looking to deepen your skills, improve technique, or explore new perspectives in your shibari journey? Our private rope lessons in Downtown Los Angeles offer tailored, one-on-one instruction — ensuring you get exactly what you need to grow in your practice. Lessons start at $100 per hour.

Once you’re checked in, we’ll make some tea and chat about your goals for the lesson. Into bondage but not pain? Curious about hogties? Fine-tuning a tricky suspension sequence? Let’s get into it!
We aren’t teaching from a formula – your shibari lesson is guided by you.
Andrew
Andrew specializes in technical refinement and versatility in rope bondage. Whether you’re working on perfecting suspension work or modifying shibari patterns to suit different body types, Andrew’s guidance will help to refine your technique with precision and creativity.
Melissa
Melissa brings a holistic approach to rope bondage with over 15 years of experience as both a person who ties and is tied. Melissa excels at troubleshooting and component execution and enjoys the lightbulb moments while working with beginners. She is available as an educational bottom for floorwork and partial suspension – receive real-time feedback as you tie!
Nora
Nora provides an encouraging environment for beginners and those exploring communication, creativity, and presence in rope bondage. They focus on foundational shibari skills and practical techniques to build your confidence and creativity for play.
Need someone to tie?
We are often able to match folks taking private shibari lessons in Los Angeles with an experienced bottom. Please indicate when booking if you would like to book a bottom; there is an additional charge of $50 per hour for their time.
Melissa
If you’re looking for insights as a bottom, Melissa teaches body mechanics and communication in rope, with the option to be tied by her for hands-on learning. Melissa is one half of the instructional team for Cell X an original rope bondage curriculum designed for folks who are tied.
Nora
Nora brings a decade of experience to shibari bottoming lessons with a particular focus on neurodiversity, queerness, and the embodied experience in rope. Nora is one half of the instructional team for Cell X, an original curriculum designed for folks who are tied.
Lesson deposits are non-refundable but may be used to reschedule or turned into Studio credit with at least forty-eight hours notice. Please email us to reschedule or request credit.
The remaining balance of your lesson (less transaction fees) is refundable up to forty-eight hours before your lesson. Refunds for late cancellations are at the Studio’s discretion.
The times you see are determined by what time zone your web browser thinks you’re in. For instance, if your browser thinks you’re in EST, it will show appointment times in EST.
If you’re booking while traveling (or based outside of the Pacific Time Zone), please double-check that you’re booking for the correct time. Your confirmation email will always list your booking in the Pacific Time Zone.
If you’ve been victimized by time zones (i.e. booked the wrong time for your lesson) please contact us ASAP to move your appointment. Our Deposit & Refund Policy still applies.
