Your rope deserves a little love. (And hey, you probably do, too.)
Join us for Rope TLC, a cozy midday gathering where we treat our rope with the care and intention it deserves. This is somewhere between a class and a jam – it’s hands-on, practical learning with a side of music, good vibes, and parallel play.
We’ll walk you through the basics of conditioning natural-fiber rope: when to treat it, how to apply balm, and how to extend the life of your favorite hanks. Whether your rope is brand-new or well-worn, this is a great chance to connect with your gear (and your community) in a low-stakes, collaborative setting.
We’ll Provide:
- A 1oz tin of homemade rope balm (yours to keep!)
- Soft cloths for balm application
- Rope-conditioning guidance from experienced riggers
- Tea, candy, and a curated playlist
You Should Bring:
- Natural fiber rope you’d like to treat
- Clothes you’re cool getting a little rope-dusty
- Optional: tools for end finishing (scissors, whipping twine, pliers, needles)
Note: This event is for natural fiber rope only—conditioning synthetic ropes can do more harm than good.
You’ll leave with smoother rope, softer hands, a tin of balm for future use, and the skills to keep your kit in excellent shape going forward.
Come solo or bring a friend. Tending to your tools can be a ritual – we think it’s one worth sharing.
