Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be a member to attend an event?
No. MEMBERSHIPS offer discounted access to multiple events and/or classes a month but are not required for participation. Tickets for individual events can be purchased via the event’s listing on our website.
Can I purchase a ticket at the door for an event?
We do not conduct any transactions or keep any cash on-premises for the safety of our staff. If a class or party is not sold out, tickets will be available until its scheduled start time via our website.
Is sexual play allowed?
Rope play is a sensual and sometimes sexual experience. Although we support attendees’ expression in rope, no genital sexual interaction is permitted in the studio. Street legal dress must be maintained in all of the building’s shared spaces.
What is your refund policy on event/class tickets?
Full refunds are available up to 7 days before a class or event. Refunds may be offered within the 7 days before a class if there is a waitlist participant willing to purchase the available ticket(s), but are not guaranteed. Contact [email protected] for all refund inquiries.
What level of class is right for me?
Please review the description of each class for the prerequisite knowledge. If you aren’t sure, please message us at [email protected] for a recommendation.
Do you teach private lessons?
Private lessons are available from a variety of instructors. Please contact us using the BOOKING PAGE to learn more.
Do you offer rope experiences?
We offer rope tying sessions for those who want the experience of being in rope. Please contact us using the BOOKING PAGE to learn more.
What should I wear to a class or event?
Please dress in a way that helps you feel comfortable and confident to move your body. All dress must be street legal within the shared portions of our building (e.g. outside of The Studio). We recommend bringing layers to help regulate personal temperature. Shoes are prohibited in the tying space.
What should I bring to class? What supplies does the studio offer?
There will be limited rope to loan for attendees. Filtered water is available but please bring your own water bottle. The space also has an available First Aid kit, safety shears, and cleaning supplies. If there is anything additional you require to help make the space more accessible or comfortable for you, please email [email protected].
I would like to come to a class or event but need to keep my attendance private. How is this handled?
We will do everything possible to support your anonymity. Registration lists are not publicly available and while legal names are required to verify ticket purchases and for liability waivers, they are not otherwise used in the space. Please feel free to use whatever name makes you feel most safe in the studio.
I’m coming to a class/event solo. Will I be able to meet someone there?
Finding a tying partner is like making any sort of friend in that it requires vulnerability and communication from all parties. While studio staff do not matchmake and we can’t guarantee that you will find someone to tie with at an event, we can also say (from experience) that it is much easier to meet someone at an event than it is online.
The class I want to attend is sold out. Is there a waitlist?
Yes! Each event has its own waitlist; if tickets become available, we reach out to folks on the waitlist in the order they registered interest.
What kind of rope should I get? What size? From where?
Choosing rope is a deeply personal decision; there’s no singular right answer. The “right” rope is the rope that enables you (and perhaps an enthusiastic partner) to have the experience you’d like to have, so choose the rope that feels right in your hands or on your body. We have some sample ropes on hand. If you would like specific guidance or vendor recommendations based on your goals, ask a staff member for assistance.
I left my favorite length of 8m x 6mm natural colored jute rope (or anything else) at the studio! Is it gone?
Likely not. Please ask a staff member to check the Lost and Found bin for your missing item.
